Founder's story
Marina Shmatova, a Russian-Emirati financial expert and philanthropist, founded the SHMATOV FAMILY Family Charitable Foundation after a turning point in her life that occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic. After spending more than two years in Mozambique, she developed a deep connection with the continent and became passionate about its development, together with her family.
Key Initiatives
Education Development: Construction of a school for 4,000 students in Ooroze, Beira, Mozambique, through a family foundation (Nia Safi), later renamed the SHMATOV FAMILY Family Charitable Foundation.
Environmental projects: implementation of renewable energy initiatives and climate change mitigation programs.
